Schweitzer faces construction liens on Georgetown Lake mansion
The Montana Republican Party today released information on two construction liens filed by two contractors this month against Brian and Nancy Schweitzer. The liens are for $21,000 in work completed in August on the couple's Georgetown Lake retreat. Click here to see the lien documents.
No doubt, when the Montana media gets their mitts on this story, Schweitzer will be made to look the victim against unscrupulous contractors and he'll become a hero among his blue-collar, Georgetown Lake neighbors.

Whoa there Kemosabe! Isn't the "unscrupulous contractor" in this little drama none other than Senator Jesse Laslovich's (D - Anaconda) father?
So maybe after Jesse publicly refers to the governor as a bully, things got a little tense on the job site and now the subs aren't getting paid? Wowee - that could take some of the fun out of picking out those gold-plated bathroom fixtures for the manse, huh?
My bet is the media tries to avoid this story just like the 9-1-1 domestic violence calls at the Governor's Mansion earlier this year. Otherwise they're likely to start a conflagration between the Butte-Anaconda Democrats and the Brian/Walt Schweitzer Democrats that would make this past summer's forest fires look like a mini barbeque. Could make for a fun election season though.
We shall watch and see.

Carter, what is that supposed to mean? Are you the comment sheriff?
Here's the rest of the story on the construction lien deal. BS started dealing directly with the sub-contractors, rather than going through Laslovich, the general contractor. When these bills were not paid, it was the sub-contractors who filed the liens. Old man Laslovich had nothing to do with it, and BS threw him under the bus. I'm also told from folks in the media and in the know that BS told them one story, but the real story couldn't be printed simply because Laslovich refused to tell it and put BS in hot water. So there is honor and loyalty on the Laslovich side of the equation, and there is bullying and double-dealing on the Schweitzer side. No surprise.
